China-ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Innovation Camp Opens in Hangzhou

At the China-ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Innovation Camp held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, on Oct 31 and Nov 1 nearly 30 outstanding young entrepreneurs from ASEAN countries and over 40 Chinese young representatives of enterprises, government agencies, international organizations and related industries engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics such as the digital economy and cross-border cooperation.

This event was hosted by China International Youth Exchange Center (CIYEC), the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province, the International Trade Centre of the United Nations (Hangzhou Centre for Digital Innovation and Sustainable Development), China-ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Association, United Nations Global SDGs and Leadership Development Center, and Zhejiang Youth Federation.

Multiple innovative projects from ASEAN countries such as Cambodia, Laos and Brunei were displayed alongside Chinese representative projects in digital fashion, cross-border e-commerce and financial investment. The event set up a pairing-up procedure facilitating multiple cooperative undertakings in fields such as cross-border e-commerce and digital technology. It promoted precise matchmaking between Chinese and foreign enterprises in terms of resources, channels and projects.

Many investment institutions participated in the event, providing financing channels and cooperation opportunities for innovative projects with potential, effectively helping enterprises expand sales networks and open up cross-border markets. These concrete measures helped resolve the difficulties in financing and implementation for some entrepreneurial projects.

Participants widely agreed that this camp has built a platform for regular exchanges and project incubation, and has effectively addressed the common needs of regional enterprises to expand channels, access capital, and facilitate cross-border implementation from an economic cooperation perspective.

The participants said that they will take this event as a starting point to continuously deepen practical cooperation in fields such as digital economy and cross-border integration, jointly build a closer China-ASEAN youth innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, and give sustained impetus to regional economic integration and the sustainable growth.
