Tiziana Lippiello, rector of Ca' Foscari University of Venice, visited Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) on June 14.

Jia Wenjian, BFSU's president, welcomed Lippiello and congratulated Ca' Foscari University on its achievements. He emphasized BFSU's commitment to promoting language education, cultural understanding, and regional studies to cultivate highly qualified, globally competent individuals.
Jia expressed hope that the recent high-level exchanges between the two universities would lead to collaborative projects that leverage their respective strengths and resources, benefiting students from both China and Italy.
Zhao Gang, BFSU's vice-president, thanked Lippiello for her long-standing support of BFSU's Italian language and international Sinology programs. He highlighted BFSU's latest developments in multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary studies, scientific research achievements, and the establishment of international alliances, platforms, and centers.
Zhao expressed hope for the two universities to maintain close communication and implement the agreements already reached.
Lippiello noted BFSU's educational goals and achievements.
She agreed that there is significant potential for collaboration between the two universities in Chinese-Italian language and cultural exchange, international Chinese studies, regional studies, and joint faculty research. Lippiello said that she looks forward to exploring joint interdisciplinary talent cultivation models to develop high-level professionals who acknowledge the languages, cultures, and national contexts of both countries.
