Amalia Di Iorio, pro vice-chancellor of La Trobe University in Australia, led a delegation to visit Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) on Sept 8.

The two sides held in-depth exchanges on further advancing bilateral cooperation and on the development of their Sino-foreign cooperative undergraduate program in Big Data Management and Application.

Zhao reviewed the partnership between the two universities, which dates back to 2008. He noted that cooperation has continued to broaden in recent years, with both sides working together to develop the joint undergraduate program.

Amalia Di Iorio said La Trobe University attaches great importance to its longstanding partnership with BFSU, and expressed hope that the joint program would serve as a key platform for deepening cooperation in talent cultivation, academic exchange and other areas.

Following the meeting, the two sides held the 2026 autumn working meeting of the joint management committee for the undergraduate program in Big Data Management and Application.
