Two Dalian hospitals recognized as high-quality TCM departments
Updated: 2026-01-12
Dalian Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Dalian Hospital of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine have been recognized by the Liaoning Provincial Health Commission as high-quality departments for the preventive treatment of diseases in TCM. This recognition highlights their achievements in standardized management, service innovation, clinical technology, and talent development.
Dalian has promoted the integration of TCM and Western medicine, establishing 740 TCM institutions citywide. These include TCM clinics in all secondary-level and above general hospitals, maternal and child health institutions, and infectious disease hospitals, as well as 163 community health centers and township clinics staffed with TCM practitioners. Over 80 percent of community health stations and village clinics now offer TCM services, forming a four-level service network spanning city to village.
With these developments, Dalian plans to strengthen TCM's "preventive treatment of diseases" by drawing on the advanced practices of the two recognized hospitals, improving services in line with provincial guidelines, and establishing integrated TCM health management mechanisms that connect preventive care with clinical treatment.
