Hengli Heavy Industry secures five new shipbuilding orders

Hengli Heavy Industry has signed a contract with Greek shipowner Thenamaris for the construction of three LR2 product oil tankers, and signed another contract with Greek shipowner EuroBulk for two 82,000-metric-ton bulk carriers.

This marks the first cooperation between Hengli Heavy Industry and Thenamaris, and also the first time Thenamaris has placed new orders with a local Chinese shipyard.

The LR2 tanker is one of the main vessel types for medium-sized refined oil transportation and is used on long-haul routes such as the Middle East-Asia and Europe-America corridors. This vessel type demands strict standards in construction accuracy, cargo hold coating quality, and energy-saving and environmental performance. The decision to place the order with Hengli Heavy Industry demonstrates the high recognition that world-class shipowners have for the company's technical strength, project management, and delivery capability.

During the same period, Hengli Heavy Industry's newbuilding bulk carrier project with EuroBulk expanded to a total of four 82,000-ton vessels. EuroBulk's continued repeat orders are the best endorsement of Hengli Heavy Industry's products and services, and cooperation between the two sides continues to deepen and solidify.
