Dalian Suoyuwan Football Stadium Wins Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize

The winners of the 21st Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize were recently announced. Dalian Suoyuwan Football Stadium won the prize, becoming the only prize-winning project in Liaoning Province and the only prize-winning building project of its kind in Northeast China. 

Surrounded by the sea on three sides, the stadium is a large-scale professional football venue with a seating capacity of 63,000, meeting FIFA’s highest standards. The stadium has a total floor area of 136,000 square meters. Construction began in March 2021, and the stadium was completed and opened in April 2023.

Inspired by ocean waves and the shape of a seashell, the stadium embodies a design concept known as “Colorful Layered Waves”. It has been hailed as “China’s most beautiful football stadium.”

Known as the “Oscar of Engineering,” the Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize is recognized as the highest honor in China’s civil engineering industry.（Source: DMG）
