Chinese autonomous driving startup WeRide said on Wednesday that a fleet of its robotaxis has continued its service in Ordos, a city in Inner Mongolia, after public trial operations for one month and a half.
The fleet, the first of its kind in Inner Mongolia, now has 42 stops in the city. Local residents can hail the robotaxis on their smartphones.
WeRide said it will increase the number of stops over time in Ordos to provide service for more passengers.
In its trial operations, the autonomous vehicles finished over 1,000 trips for over 2,000 passengers in the city, said WeRide.
Established in 2017, the startup is based in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, specializes in Level 4 autonomous driving solutions.
It has a presence in over 26 cities across the globe, with its whole fleet's cumulative mileage reaching around 25 million kilometers.
