The reprocessing of scrap steel yields various grades of "recycled" steel, while waste tires are transformed into commonly used recycled rubber. Additionally, electronic waste is processed to extract rare and precious metals. In the Ordos High-tech Industrial Development Zone of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, seemingly worthless "waste" serves as a valuable "raw material" for numerous enterprises.

In the dismantling workshop of Huaxiang Renewable Resources Comprehensive Utilization Co in Ordos High-tech Industrial Development Zone, two large pure electric dismantling machines are seen dismantling waste steel.
Through a series of systematic procedures, including sorting and dismantling, discarded scraps and scrap steel obtained from neighboring high-tech park enterprises and surrounding areas are repurposed into new products. These materials become sought-after "raw materials" for surrounding steel enterprises.

In the plastic and rubber workshops, processing and production also proceed in an orderly manner. Waste tires are processed into rubber particles through fully automated production lines and transported to recycled rubber factories and waterproof material factories, becoming reusable raw materials.
The Huaxiang Renewable Resources Comprehensive Utilization Project has a total construction area of approximately 50,000 square meters and is divided into two phases for construction.
The project's first phase mainly focuses on the recycling and treatment of waste resources, including the fine dismantling of scrapped motor vehicles, processing of waste metals, processing of waste plastics, processing of waste tires, and trading of mining machinery and equipment. The second phase mainly includes constructing automobile parts, re-manufacturing and engine re-manufacturing, cotton wool, waste glass, and waste paper recycling plants.
The project's first phase is planned to be put into operation this year. After total production, it is poised to handle 30,000 scrapped cars (including new energy and construction machinery), and process 200,000 metric tons of scrap steel annually. It is expected to generate sales revenue of 1 billion yuan ($141.30 million) and tax revenue of 30 million yuan.

It is reported that this project promotes the recycling and processing of waste resources and the re-manufacturing of automotive parts with high standards, therefore realizing the recycling of urban waste materials.
It is poised to inject new momentum into constructing a complete automotive industry chain in Ordos' Dongsheng district and create an "Ordos Dongsheng" model for developing the renewable resources industry and innovating urban solid waste management.
