According to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional Energy Bureau, the region's raw coal output in 2024 was 1.30 billion metric tons, increasing by 5.4 percent year-on-year, which was 4.1 percentage points higher than the national growth rate. It ranked first in the country, moving ahead of Shanxi province.
Specifically, the combined output of the region's three major raw coal production areas, namely Ordos, Xiliin Gol League and Hulunbuir, accounted for 88.3 percent of the region's total raw coal output and 24.1 percent of the national total.
