On Feb 20, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional Department of Natural Resources approved land use rights for the No 1 and No 2 Xinjie mines in Taigemiao mining area, kicking off the projects' construction.
These key projects are included in Inner Mongolia's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25). Both mines are designed with an annual production capacity of 8 million metric tons. A supporting coal preparation plant of corresponding scale will also be built.
The No 1 mine covers an area of over 70 square kilometers and has a resource reserve of 1.38 billion tons. The No 2 mine covers an area of more than 67 square kilometers and has a resource reserve of 1.19 billion tons.
The early completion of these two mines is crucial for enhancing the regional energy security supply capacity and ensuring the economy's stable development.
