Inner Mongolia Starlink Grassland Information Technology Co, based in Ordos city, has been awarded a Global Technology Recognition Certificate by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) during the FAO Global Technology Awards Ceremony on Oct 15.

The certificate acknowledges the company's BeiDou Smart Pasture Ecosystem, an integrated technological solution addressing critical challenges in extensive livestock farming. In remote pastoral regions where herds roam across vast areas, traditional methods of tracking livestock, monitoring water supply, and detecting early signs of disease have proven inefficient and data-poor.

By using the BeiDou satellite navigation system, along with electronic sensors and automated identification technology, the BeiDou Smart Pasture Ecosystem enables continuous, real-time monitoring of animal location, health, and resource use. This innovation helps bridge gaps in veterinary care, enhances resource efficiency, and strengthens traceability – directly improving animal well-being and supporting sustainable pasture management.

Falling under the FAO award category that highlights sustainable livestock transformation and One Health – an approach integrating human, animal, and environmental health, the BeiDou Smart Pasture Ecosystem not only improves animal well-being but also contributes to water conservation and reduced soil pollution, offering a replicable model for pastoral communities worldwide.
