From Dec 5 to 6, 2024, a BGA accreditation panel conducted an on-site review at IBS. Jia Wenjian, BFSU president and deputy secretary of the CPC BFSU committee, welcomed the panel and provided an overview of the university’s achievements in talent cultivation, international exchange and academic development.
Jia highlighted the alignment of BFSU’s vision with the BGA’s emphasis on educational innovation and social responsibility. He said he hopes the accreditation will further enhance the university’s international influence and attractiveness.
The panel conducted seven rounds of interviews with IBS, involving approximately 80 participants. The experts commended the school’s performance, recognizing IBS as one of China’s most prestigious business schools committed to enhancing the quality of business education.
The panel particularly praised the school’s strong management team, distinguished faculty and well-equipped teaching facilities, which provide a solid foundation for research, talent development and community engagement. Furthermore, the panel acknowledged the school’s emphasis on integrating theory with practice, employing a dual approach of team projects and coursework to cultivate students’ global perspective, international mindset and cross-cultural communication skills.
The BGA was founded in 1967 by the Association of MBAs and later evolved into a specialized accreditation body for business schools. It is dedicated to advancing the global development of business education, with a particular focus on responsible management practices and lifelong learning.
The BGA accreditation is recognized alongside the AACSB (the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation and the EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) accreditation as one of the three most prestigious international accreditation frameworks for business schools worldwide.
Achieving the BGA Gold status accreditation is a significant milestone in BFSU’s efforts to enhance the internationalization and quality of its business school. It also paves the way for further collaboration between BFSU and the BGA.
