BFSU hosts China-Saudi Arabia student exchange event

The China-Saudi Arabia student exchange event was held at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) on Nov 17.

Zhao Gang, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC BFSU Committee and vice-president of BFSU, and Yahya Hamad Y Mashyakhy, the cultural counselor of the Saudi Embassy in China, attended the event. Additionally, 53 students from six Saudi universities participated.

During the event, Zhao Gang met with Yahya and his delegation, introducing BFSU's history, academic specialties, and achievements. He emphasized BFSU's commitment to fostering friendly cooperation with Saudi Arabia and expressed a desire to use this cultural exchange event as a platform to expand cooperation with the Saudi Embassy in China and Saudi universities. He also emphasized the university's aim to jointly develop high-quality platforms for youth exchange and academic dialogue, thereby strengthening cultural ties and mutual understanding between the countries.  

Yahya expressed gratitude for BFSU's warm reception and highlighted the exchange's role in bolstering the strategic partnership between China and Saudi Arabia, enhancing youth understanding and trust. He affirmed the Saudi Embassy's commitment to supporting educational, cultural, and youth cooperation projects.

Students from the Arabic Studies of BFSU presented impressive performances, including choral singing, poetry recitation, and calligraphy, which received unanimous praise from the teachers and students present.

Saudi university students also participated in paper-cutting and Peking Opera mask painting workshops, where they experienced firsthand the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture.
