BFSU World Language Museum selected as national youth practice base

The World Language Museum at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) was recently selected as a "Social Practice Activity Base for Chinese and Foreign Youth" by the China Education Association for International Exchange.

As a major landmark project of BFSU's 2020 "double first-class" initiative, the World Language Museum aims to leverage the university's distinctive strengths in language education and cultural exchange. By comprehensively showcasing the diverse world of languages and the history of foreign language education development, the museum serves national strategies and promotes the exchange and mutual learning of civilizations.

The museum is equipped with a team of Chinese and international student guides who are proficient in both Chinese and English, ensuring they can accommodate visitors from diverse linguistic backgrounds.

Since its establishment, it has welcomed over 80,000 visitors from more than 70 countries and regions worldwide, hosting over 400 visiting groups annually, providing more than 60 English-language tours, with youth groups making up more than half of the visiting groups. Additionally, the venue actively expands its educational offerings by hosting over a hundred events, including themed exhibitions, academic lectures, special activities, and practical classes.

Being selected as a "Social Practice Activity Base for Chinese and Foreign Youth" is a full recognition of BFSU's long-standing efforts in promoting language education and supporting cultural exchanges and the development of national and international communication capabilities. In the future, the World Language Museum will contribute to building a more open, inclusive and mutually beneficial education system for international students coming to China.
