CHAIRMAN OF THE WORLD ASSOCIATION OF CHINESE STUDIES (WACS)
Xie Fuzhan, born in August 1954, is former President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and a current CASS member. He is also member of the 19th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the 13th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee and Deputy-Director of the CPPCC Economic Affairs Committee. He successively served as Vice-President of the Development Research Center (DRC) of the State Council, Commissioner of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Director of the Research Office of the State Council, Governor of Henan province, Secretary of the CPC Henan Provincial Committee, etc. He is a renowned economist and his main research fields include macroeconomics and macroeconomic policy, industrial structure and industrial policy, trade policy, exchange rate policy, regional economic development policy, income distribution policy, etc. He was awarded the 4th and 9th Sun Yefang Economic Science Award in 1991 and 2001 for his outstanding contributions to the studies of the Chinese economy.

Cai Fang, born in September 1956, is former Vice-President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) as well as a member of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC) and Vice-Chairman of the NPC Agricultural and Rural Affairs Committee. As a renowned economist, Cai's research interests include labor economics, population economics, China's economic reform and development, economic growth, income distribution, and issues relating to agriculture, rural areas, and rural residents, etc. He was awarded the 2nd Zhang Peigang Award for Outstanding Achievements in Development Economics, the 1st China Soft Science Award, the 14th Sun Yefang Economic Science Award, the 3rd Government Award for Chinese Publications, etc.

Wang Lei, born in October 1968, is Director-General of the Bureau of International Cooperation of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). He also serves as Executive Director of the Belt and Road Research Institute of CASS, member of the High-Level Advisory Group of the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO, member of the 12th Council of the Chinese Association for International Understanding (CAFIU), and Vice-Chairman of the China Committee of the International Science Council of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology (ISA-CHINA). He conducted research on WTO norms at the Faculty of Law of Tilburg University in the Netherlands and the University of Leuven in Belgium. His research interests include China's foreign trade and investment, reform of the international trade system, etc.

Larin Viktor, born in August 1952, is an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) and Deputy Chairman of the RAS Far Eastern Branch. He served as Head of the RAS Institute of History, Archeology and Ethnography of the Peoples of the Far East. As a renowned Russian scholar in China studies, he specializes in Chinese history and politics, international relations and security issues in the Pacific region, Russia's foreign policy in the Pacific region, etc. In 2010, he was awarded Jubilee Medal in honor of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Russia.

Enrique Dussel Peters, born in March 1965, earned his Ph.D. in economics at the University of Notre Dame (1996). He has served as a professor at the Graduate School of Economics, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) since 1993. He has also served as Coordinator of the Center for Chinese-Mexican Studies (CECHIMEX) at UNAM and the Academic Network of Latin America and the Caribbean on China (Red ALC-China), and is a member of Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (level 3). His research has concentrated on political economy, industrial organization, development, processes of segments of global value chains and the socioeconomic Latin America and Caribbean-China relationship and his works have been published in Spanish, German, English, Chinese, and Portuguese.
