The Chine, Corée, Japon - CCJ, founded on Jan 1, 2006, is the largest East Asia research center in France. Jointly managed by the School of Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS) and the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), it brings together the Center for Modern and Contemporary China Studies, the Research Center for Korea and the Research Center for Japan.
The center is also known as the "China Center". Its mission is to develop research programs on China from a social science perspective. The center's programs cover history, anthropology, economics, sociology, philosophy, political science, etc. Maintaining an interdisciplinary approach, the center is based on primary sources and fieldwork.
